At Music of the Night, we guarantee that the DJ we send to your wedding will be a highly experienced professional. Unlike some larger firms that are constantly changing staff, Steve, Sandra and Dale are all equal partners in Music of the Night. We only hire experienced DJs, all of whom must pass a rigorous six-month training period prior to being scheduled for weddings. Even our back-up DJs have over 15 years experience. We are proud to introduce our partners....

Steve M. Kovach
Steve has been in the music business for over 30 years. He has owned and operated his own disc jockey service for most of that time While still in high school, Steve was an active DJ on Aldershot Radio and worked for Diversified Disc Jockeys on weekends. In the early 80's, Steve put together his own set of equipment to better serve his clients. Later he worked as an on-air personality at CFMU-FM for over three years, hosting 2 different shows. Steve then became House D.J. at McMaster's Rathskeller Pub. After sub-contracting to various DJ companies for many years - and after his own marriage in 1991 - Steve's business had grown to such a point that he decided to take direct bookings only. In 1994, together with Dale Hicks and Sandra Kenwood, he formed a partnership named Music of the Night Compact Disc Jockey Services Ltd. Steve has been an active member of the Burlington Junior Chamber/Jaycees and has entertained at many Regional Conference Conventions. His affiliations have led to expanded services to centers including most of Southern Ontario. Steve has been a very active member of the CDJA since the Hamilton Chapter was chartered, Shows and Conventions, including 4 Canadian Junior Chamber National in 1995. That year he served as Vice-President.   In 1999-2000, Steve served on the National Executive Council as President of the Hamilton Chapter

Dale J. Hicks
Dale has been 'spinning discs' for over 25 years. He got his start in Grade 7, providing the music for Sock Hops, as early as 1970. Greatly influenced by his parents and older brothers, he was exposed to music from the Big Band and Crooner era to all the current tunes of the day. While in High School, he was very active on several entertainment committees, organizing and co-coordinating plays, dances and coffeehouses. He was also the DJ at several Teen Drop-In Centers in the Hamilton area. In 1976, Dale became a professional DJ with the Hi-Fi's and quickly became one of their top jocks, competing for "the most requests per year" for the majority of his career. In just three years, Dale became a member of the "100 Club" - an award given to a DJ who has generated 100 requests for his personal services through the company. He still holds the record for achieving this goal in the shortest amount of time. We can offer no finer compliment about Dale than this: Steve and Sandra chose Dale to perform at their wedding 3 years before he ever joined the partnership.

Sandra W. Kenwood
Sandra has been working in the DJ world since 1991, first as Steve's helper and then 'flying solo' in 1996. With two older sisters and a mother who sang in a big band during World War II, she already had a broad knowledge of music, which was greatly expanded working with Steve. Sandra's day job as a trainer and facilitator makes her presentation and people skills second to none. She really excels at events where interaction with the crowd is required. While Steve, Dale and Sandra have all participated in Advanced Mobile Disc Jockey Training and Sound Technology Training with the CDJA, weare proud to say that Sandra graduated TOP OF THE CLASS in both programs. Our active member at the CAMEO meetings, Sandra is in touch with changes to the industry and the latest techniques.  In 2004, Sandra was elected as South Central Ontario Chapter President of CAMEO.

Working with Steve, Dale and Sandra are 3 other DJs, who join with us during the busy season. Each of these DJs has over 10 years experience and have partnered with us for many years.
